Wohlwend teacher receives Emerson Excellence in Teaching Award

Renato Durante, music teacher at Wohlwend Elementary, received the Emerson Excellence in Teaching award. The award recognizes educators who are examples of excellence in their field.

"We are so very fortunate to have Renato among our school community," said Julie Durham, Wohlwend assistant principal. "He is a passionate, dedicated educator who goes above and beyond for our students every single day. Renato has a true growth mindset and strives to bring new, innovative ideas to his classroom that excite and motivate students to be their very best. Outside the classroom, our students have had the pleasure of being part of countless musical performances that Renato has created. Each one continues to raise the bar in creativity and uniqueness. Our students are so lucky to have such a wonderful educator each year of their elementary school experience!"
