Mehlville School District schedules early release days once a month to provide professional development for teachers. Half days are typically scheduled for the last Wednesday of the month. See the 2020-2021 calendar for details.

Early Childhood
On early release day during the first semester (August through December), only AM early childhood classes meet at their usual times. There are no PM classes on early release days during the first semester.

On early release day during second semester (January through May), only PM early childhood classes meet at their usual times. There are no AM classes on early release days during the second semester.

SCOPE/SSLCMS
No afternoon classes.

2-Hour Delayed Start
A 2-hour delayed start time may be used due to inclement weather or other emergency. During a 2-hour delayed start, all schools start exactly two hours later than usual. All morning bus schedules are pushed back by exactly two hours. Dismissal times remain the same.

Important update for 2020-2021 school year: Delayed starts only impact students participating in in-person learning either in Plan A or Plan B. Students following Plan C (virtual learning) or participating in Mehlville@Home will continue to meet with their teachers following their normal schedules.

The AM sessions of Early Childhood classes are canceled during a 2-hour delayed start. PM sessions continue as they normally would.

SCOPE
The morning session of SCOPE is canceled during a 2-hour delayed start. Afternoon sessions continue as they normally would.

High school interventions
In-person high school interventions are canceled during a 2-hour delayed start.

Y-Club
During a 2-hour delayed start, Y-Club opens two hours later than it normally would.

Grab-and-go curbside meals
Grab-and-go curbside meals are available from Mehlville High School and Oakville High School during a two-hour delayed start. Learn more about free meals.

Mehlville School District Childcare
Mehlville School District employees who are using district-provided childcare can drop their children off two hours later than they normally would.
