Board approves hiring of principal at Point Elementary School

Mrs. Jennifer RichThe Mehlville Board of Education unanimously approved hiring Jennifer Rich as the principal of Point Elementary School for the 2024-2025 school year at its meeting on April 11, 2024.

Mrs. Jennifer RichRich has served as the assistant principal at Blades Elementary School and Hagemann Elementary School this school year. She previously taught English language arts for 18 years at Oakville Middle School, where she also chaired the ELA Department and other committees. Rich received the Emerson Excellence in Teaching Award in 2022.

She has a Bachelor of Science in English and a Master of Arts in Education from Truman State University, and she has earned an Educational Specialist in Administration from Lindenwood University.

“Mrs. Rich is a celebrated educator and a proven leader in the Mehlville School District,” said Dr. Chad Dickemper, Assistant Superintendent - Elementary. “Her long-standing experience as a department chair, content expert, and service as an assistant principal have prepared her well to lead Point Elementary School to continued success and growth.”

“I am thrilled to join the staff at Point Elementary School as the principal,” Rich said. “I can't wait to work alongside the amazing Point students, staff and families to continue the tradition of academic excellence and create a community where every individual feels valued, supported and empowered. I am deeply honored and committed to serving this community with enthusiasm, dedication and heart.”

Rich will begin serving as principal of Point Elementary School on July 1, 2024.
