Mehlville High School assistant principal Katie LakebrinkWe are pleased to announce that Katie Lakebrink will be an assistant principal at Mehlville High School beginning with the 2021-2022 school year. 

The Mehlville School District Board of Education unanimously voted to approve Lakebrink’s hiring at its May 20, 2021, meeting. Several high-quality candidates applied for the position, and both staff and parents provided feedback and assisted with interview panels. 

“We are very excited for Katie to join our team at Mehlville High School,” said Dr. Jason Landherr, Mehlville High School principal. “Her diverse classroom experience built on personalized learning at MOSAIC Elementary School and the Washington Middle School Academy will be an asset to Mehlville High School. She is a confident leader who will be a strong advocate for students and staff at Mehlville High School.”

Lakebrink is currently a seventh-grade English Language Arts and social studies teacher in the Eagle Academy at Washington Middle School. She also previously spent five years as a social studies teacher at Oakville Middle School and three years as a third-grade teacher at MOSAIC Elementary School.

“I am excited to work with a wonderful staff of educators and to share my knowledge of project-based and personalized learning avenues for students,” said Lakebrink. “I look forward to building relationships within the Mehlville High School community to provide a welcoming environment for staff, family, and student success.”

Lakebrink has a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Missouri, as well as an Educational Specialist Degree in Administration from Lindenwood University. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Lindenwood University.

Lakebrink replaces Dr. Andy Ross who has accepted a role as an administrator in Ladue School District. She will begin serving as assistant principal on July 1, 2021.
