Parents as Teachers Services

Children begin learning at birth and learn more during the first five years of life than at any other time.

Parents As Teachers is a parent education program supporting parents in their role as the first and most influential teachers of their children. The Parents as Teachers research-based Foundational curriculum is used to educate parents about child development and parenting issues. All services are free of charge to Mehlville School District residents. To enroll, Click on PAT Enrollment Form from the menu on the left or call 314-467-5304. • PAT children score higher on kindergarten readiness tests and on standardized measures of achievement in early grades.
  • PAT parents are more involved in their children's schooling.
  • PAT parents are more confident in their parenting role and read more to their children.
