Morris and PittsBierbaum Elementary principal Paul Morris and Mehlville High School counselor David Pitts both recently earned their doctorate.

Dr. Morris earned his doctorate in educational leadership from Maryville University.

“So many other principals and district administrators in Mehlville have already achieved their doctorates, and many of them also went through Maryville,” Dr. Morris said. “It brings me a lot of pride to know that I am in such esteemed company.”

Dr. Pitts earned his Doctorate of Education (Ed.D) with an emphasis in Leadership in Teaching and Learning program at Missouri Baptist University.

“My coworkers at MHS have challenged and encouraged me to continually be a better educator, Dr. Pitts said. “Without my time at MHS, I’m not sure I’d have ever had the confidence or desire to pursue my doctorate. We tell our students about the importance of lifelong learning, so I am excited to be able to be an example of what that actually means.”

Congratulations to Dr. Morris and Dr. Pitts.
