Mission Statement

The Mehlville School District mission is to build a high performing school system rooted in the community's desire to build a culture of improvement for staff and students.

About the District

Located in south St. Louis County, the Mehlville School District encompasses all or part of the unincorporated communities of Mehlville, Oakville, Concord and Lemay. Through its dedication to providing institutional excellence, fiscal responsibility and community benefit, our fully accredited district serves the educational needs of about 10,000 children in a community of about 96,000 residents within 42 square miles.

The Mehlville School District Administration Building is located on the campus of Mehlville High School and is open on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The mailing address for our central office is 3120 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, MO 63125. Portrait of a GraduateMehlville School District believes that all of our graduates should be creative and critical thinkers, self-aware, persistent, communicators, and ethical and global. We call this our Portrait of a Graduate. The Portrait of a Graduate guides our work with students from preschool through graduation.

  • We are committed to personalized learning and offer numerous programs and opportunities for students. For example:

    • At MOSAIC Elementary School, students partner with teachers to develop personalized learning paths based on their pace, goals and interests.
    • Middle School Academies offer blended learning opportunities, including project-based learning, inquiry-based learning, personalized learning and guided teacher expertise.
    • High school students can create their own course of study through the MyPath program. They can also gain real-world experience through the St. Louis Center for Advanced Professional Studies or through classes at South Tech. Mehlville School District also offers dual enrollment with colleges and the Early College Academy in partnership with St. Louis Community College.

  • ohs media studentsMehlville School District was selected in 2021 to join the Digital Promise League of Innovative Schools, a coalition of forward-thinking schools across the country who are providing students with unique learning opportunities. Mehlville School District is one of just 125 districts nationwide to receive this distinction.

  • Mehlville School District was named a System Design Zone district in the Success-Ready Students Network for its use of personalized learning and achievement data to improve student outcomes.

  • Mehlville School District has nationally recognized high schools. Mehlville and Oakville high were named “best high schools” by U.S. News & World Report. Both schools are also ranked in the top 20 percent of high schools in Missouri by Niche.com.

  • oes KWe are a National District of Character, and many of our schools are also recognized as National Schools of Character.

  • Our Early Childhood Center received the FutureBuilders Early Childhood Program of the Year award from the Missouri School Boards’ Association.

  • The Mehlville Board of Education has received numerous awards from the Missouri School Boards’ Association for their commitment to effective governance.
